For the 2017–2018 school year Timothy Christian Schools, located in Elmhurst IL, opened a new 60,000 square foot middle school facility. The space includes new classrooms for seventh and eighth grades, and a new 1,200 seat fieldhouse with support spaces for the athletics program. Millies Engineering Group was proud to be a part of the design team for this project, and provided MEPFP and Technology design services for the new facility. In an ever–growing digital world, making sure this space was state–of–the–art was a high priority for Timothy Christian. To help facilitate this goal MEG designed and specified equipment for the technology infrastructure, gymnasium sound system, A/V connectivity, intercom, master clock, and video surveillance systems.
Highlights of these systems include:
- • Backbone multimode fiber connections to the existing campus network, new server equipment racks and gigabit CAT-6 cabling to both wired and wireless access points throughout the facility
- • New facility–wide IP–based interior and exterior video surveillance system with multi–megapixel cameras and digital video recording
- • A/V cabling infrastructure to support classroom multimedia equipment, and 4K video distribution from multiple sources to a new 9–panel video wall display approximately 5’ x 10’ in size
- • New state–of–the–art gymnasium sound system including ten 2000 W peak two–way loudspeakers, digital signal processor, amplifiers, wired and wireless microphone system, and support for wireless media devices such as Bluetooth connectivity
With close coordination with the Timothy Christian Staff and AMDG architects, MEG was able to help deliver a school ready to meet the needs of students in the 21st Century.
